HIKRA SOL B2 solar cable – Maximum safety for professional PV systems

The HIKRA SOL B2 is a high-quality solar cable for photovoltaic systems and complies with the current EN50618 (H1Z2Z2-K) and IEC62930 standards. It has been specially developed for permanently reliable DC cabling and combines the highest level of electrical safety with outstanding mechanical strength and excellent fire resistance.

Outstanding fire safety

With its CPR classification of B2ca s1 d0 a1, the HIKRA SOL B2 meets the most stringent requirements for fire behaviour in buildings. It is characterised by low smoke emission, no burning droplets and very low smoke corrosivity, and is therefore particularly suitable for public buildings, commercial premises and installations with heightened fire safety requirements.

Designed for the toughest conditions

The solar cable features a tinned, fine-stranded copper conductor in accordance with IEC 60228 Class 5, a cross-linked polyolefin insulation and a robust XLPO outer sheath. This makes it particularly resistant to:

• Moisture
• Acids and alkalis
• ammonia
• Mechanical stresses
• Extreme weather conditions

High electrical safety

The HIKRA SOL B2 is rated for a nominal voltage of 1.5 kV DC and 1.0 kV AC. The permissible operating voltage is 1.8 kV DC; in addition, each cable is internally tested up to 2.0 kV DC. The voltage test is carried out at 6.5 kV AC or 15 kV DC, thereby ensuring a high level of operational safety.

Operation under extreme conditions

The permissible temperature range extends from –40 °C to +90 °C, although the conductor may briefly reach temperatures of up to +120 °C. The cable remains installable even at temperatures as low as –25 °C and meets comprehensive test requirements regarding cold shock, moisture and heat resistance, and long-term exposure.
